Research Interests

My research focuses on elucidating the photophysical properties of newly synthesized materials using electronic and vibrational spectroscopy. My work with electronic spectroscopy has focused on examining organoelectronic building blocks to determine if they are suitable for inclusion in electronic devices. To this goal, I have employed single molecule fluorescence spectroscopy, UV-Vis absorption spectroscopy, fluorescence microscopy, fluorescence lifetime spectroscopy, diffuse reflectance, and quantum yield calculations. My work with vibrational spectroscopy has focused on the effects of non-covalent interactions on molecular systems. Raman spectroscopy was employed to study the effects of halogen bonding in the self-directed assembly of co-crystals and to interrogate the effects of hydrogen bonding on vibrational modes in systems of interest.
